At S T Building we undertake all forms brickwork and stone work, for new builds, building extensions, renovation and brickwork and stonework repair. Our stone and brick work covers functional and decorative work, both internal and external. We also finish internal and external walls with our plastering and rendering services. Our brick layers, stone masons, plasterers and renderers regularly work throughout Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Powys and the surrounding areas.
Whether we are brick laying for a new build home or an extension our bricklayers pay attention to detail. For extensions or new builds in conservation sensitive areas, we can source reclaimed or appropriate bricks to keep the building in character with its surroundings. All our brickwork is laid to meet modern requirements with environmental and building standards key.
Stonework, whilst related to brickwork, is undertaken by our experienced stonemasons. We can repair or refurbish stone cottage walls, stone chimneys and internal stone features. Of course we can build new stone clad buildings to give a historical feel to a new build or to blend in with surroundings from earlier time periods. We also undertake repairs and rebuilds of stone property boundaries and retaining walls, restoring them to as close to their original state as possible.
In modern homes, internal walls are usually made from timber studs dry-lined with plasterboard. The walls are then skimmed with a coat of plaster to leave a flat surface ready for painting or wallpapering. Older buildings may have stone walls or backing plaster applied directly to the surface of the wall. These are also finished with a final layer of skimming plaster. Some older buildings may need to be repaired with a traditional formula plaster that will not react with existing plasterwork
At ST Building and Plastering, we have many years of experience in plastering and always skim walls and ceilings with perfect results. Our plastering services cover skimming new plasterboard in new build properties and extensions, complete plaster skimming of rooms during refurbishments or repairs to plasterwork following damage or an upgrade such as the installation of new windows.
Textured ceilings, often called "Artex", are not as popular as they once were but we are still able to repair or renovate textured ceilings. Where appropriate, we can create a new textured ceiling or return a textured ceiling to its un-textured state. Older textured ceilings often contain asbestos, so it's always worth calling in a professional if you are planning to remove an Artex ceiling.
External walls may be left with brick or stone finish, or may be covered with a smooth or textured finish, this is called rendering.
At ST Building and Plastering we can revitalise the external appearance of a building that has still functional but weather damaged brick or stonework. We can render the all external walls of the property or just one face as necessary. We are able to repair rendered walls that have been damaged by weather, accident or through refurbishment processes such as the installation of new windows or doors.
